MSTRONG!
This is a specialty wellness program designed specifically to improve the health & fitness of people living with Multiple Sclerosis. This program is FREE to the community & Y members diagnosed with MS. Classes are offered Tues at 2pm, Thurs at 5:45pm & Fri at 2:05pm.
The mission of the MStrong! program is:
- To improve the quality of life of people living with Multiple Sclerosis & their caregivers.
- To educate patients, caregivers & the general public about the benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle after an MS diagnosis.
- To support research dedicated to the prevention & treatment of MS.
Program requirements (prior to participation) are:
- A strong personal desire - the first step is enrolling in the program.
- The ability to safely & independently (or with a support person) navigate the facility & equipment.
- Be able to comprehend & execute basic verbal &/or visual cues.
- To have awareness of their physical limits.
- To be prepared to work hard toward improving overall wellness.
- To be ready to feel stronger & have fun doing it!
