COVID-19 FACILITY UPDATES & GUIDELINES

Welcome to the Y! We want to assure our members and community that safety remains our top priority. We will continue working to keep our facilities clean & welcoming so you can continue to safely access the services and support you need the most. Taking care of our health is more important now than ever before, and your Y is here to help you and your family stay healthy, stay active, and stay safe.

Due to the ND Department of Health's decision to move Burleigh and Morton Counties into the orange status risk level, we will continue to follow these guidelines and recommendations from the ND Smart Restart Plan:   

Member Responsibilities:

  • Please wear a face covering when entering, exiting or moving throughout the building and unable to properly physically distance
  • Follow one way traffic flow established throughout the facility
  • Practice social distancing and limit unnecessary contact with others
  • Wash and sanitize hands thoroughly and frequently
  • Wipe down all equipment, machines, benches, cubbies, lockers, etc. after each use
  • Abide by recommendations posted in each department and facility area
  • Please do not come to the facility if you have a temperature or are experiencing any COVID symptoms, if you have a pending or positive COVID test, or is you have had an exposure to someone who is positive for COVID within the last 14 days

YMCA Safety Measures:

  • Ionization purification devices have been added to all ventilation systems to
    clean and filter air
  • Ionization sanitizing equipment used to sterilize surfaces
  • Access to congregate areas limited including lobbies and lounges
  • Robust cleaning protocols and practices in place with each department
  • Staff health screened daily and wear face coverings
  • Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipe dispensers are easily accessible throughout the facility

Life Center: 

  • Machines and equipment spaced out for social distancing
  • Wipe and hand sanitizer stations readily available 
  • Surfaces, machines and equipment sanitized frequently
  • Free weight benches should not be removed from marked locations
  • Limit 1 person per machine and cable pod
  • Do not use machines with posted unavailable/out of use signage

Group Fitness: 

  • Studios spaced out for social distancing 
  • Class sizes limited with pre registration required
  • Surfaces, machines and equipment sanitized frequently
  • Social distancing requested in hallways outside of studios prior and post class

Gymnasiums/Courts:

  • Limit 4 people per basketball hoop
  • Limit 2 people per racquetball court
  • Full court pick up games are prohibited
  • Noon Ball is canceled
  • Bring your own ball or check out balls from West desk
  • Surfaces and equipment sanitized frequently
  • Spectator areas restricted with no bleacher seating
  • Spaces arranged for social distancing
  • And 9 and under permitted only with a guardian (16 or older)

Pools: 

  • Limit 1 person per lap lane
  • Max of 50 people per pool during open swim times
  • Modified open swim time schedule and slide hours
  • Surfaces and equipment sanitized frequently
  • Spectator areas restricted with no deck seating
  • Spaces arranged for social distancing
  • Spectator areas restricted

Locker Rooms:

  • Social distancing requested in locker rooms
  • Limiting time in locker rooms is recommended to allow for social distancing
  • Surfaces sanitized frequently
  • Fitness Locker Rooms
    • Limit 1 person in the hot tub with time limit of 5-7 minutes to allow use by other members
    • Limit 2 people in steam room with time limit of 5-7 minutes to allow use by other members

Child Watch: 

  • Group sizes limited with pre registration required
  • Health screenings conducted before check in
  • Surfaces and toys sanitized frequently
  • Service available to monthly Child Watch add-on members only
